Vocabulary

Intrigue (noun)- to achieve or earn by appealing to another's curiosity, fancy, or interest : to intrigue one's way into another's notice.

Own Logic- I was intrigued when i saw the movie Inception.

The war intrigued her.

Grotesque (noun)- odd or unnatural in shape, appearance, or character; fantastically ugly or absurd.

Context Clues-When i saw her face it looked grotesque.

It can be argued, for instance, that war is grotesque.

Shrill (adjective)- high-pitched and piercing in sound quality.

Own Logic-The baby's shrill cry peirced my ears.

Elongated and narrow, like pieces of blackened leather, the tongues were threaded along a length of copper wire, one overlapping the next, the tips curled upward as if caught in a final shrill syllable.
