SCHOOL

The motivation I have right now is barely even there. Hopefully it will just get me to school. Sadly I'd have to say my video games stole all my motivation towards school. I need to somehow give myself a jumpstart towards school. If I start making my video games a reward when I finish doing homework or studying that might help me. But the challenging part is making me do the schoolwork first. During the beginning of school I was all focused on trying to be the best student there. Then slowly and subtly it all started fading away. I can put my schoolwork first for about a week then it becomes meaningless. Procrastination is my worst enemy in school. Almost everything I do becomes a last minute thing for me. In the future I plan on doing the homework the night I actually get it, studying a week before a test, not the night before. If I follow through with everything I said I should be able to make it through the school year with flying colors. The hard part is making sure I don’t slack in doing the schoolwork and the studying. I’ve just been enlightened. My teacher just explained to me how to view my life in 5 years. And now school feels that more important to me. I hope that I will be able to keep this view on school the same till I finish the semester and or the school year. Now if I ever have a down on school I will most likely talk to my teacher about it so she can spark my interest in it again.

  1. It's great to get the chance to comment your post, I can relate so well. I to had that problem with video games taking up study time and procrastination basically becoming a way of life. It got bad at one point but I have great news. Your theory for making your games be a reward has been working great for me, and I also try to do my homework the same night its assigned. It works great for me, I'm sure it will do the same for you!

  2. I'm glad that you have realized that video games have a huge impact on your life, some people don't even realize that video games do affect people in so many ways. I do hope that you can stick to your word, I am in the same position with you right now in slacking so much and I keep telling myslef the samething as you, to do it the same night. I wish you the best, I hope video games can become a reward rather than just play to play. :)

  3. I understand how video games can affect your motivation, I too am an avid gamer and I have motivation problems. The reward idea is a great one and I will be stealing it from you for future use. =P

  4. I'm right there with you. Procastination is always there; waiting until the day before it's due to do it or even hours before it's due. One thing that has really helped me was like you said, to do homework that same day. It takes 3 weeks to create a habbit, but once you have it, it's so easy to keep on doing it. Good luck!
